3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Thursday - Sunday is the "set" part of my week that is all about routine rather than development, but I still remain alert for opportunities that come my way. Spiritual and mental exercises and practises are essential to keep my life experience wholesome and fulfilled, and I know how important it is not to neglect them.

This week, I am particularly focused on consolidation, ensuring that I become as robust and consistent as possible. In particular, I intend to push on in mental development and continue to eliminate unnecessary thought from my mind, until I achieve perpetual, blissful internal silence.

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Although far from perfected, my elimination of unnecessary thought is already making me feel a new man, lighter and easier-going. I am eagerly anticipating the bliss I will enjoy when my mind becomes continually silent and intuitively-driven. This quiet and purely internal breakthrough is more significant than any external event could be - peace at last and the end of suffering.

There is synchronicity between myself and Son as both his band and my business have gone quiet for different reasons. However this has freed us both up for both bonding and personal development. We are both focused and open to new opportunities as they appear over the Summer.

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I had a few hours in the garden yesterday, and I feel like I've walked the Yorkshire Three Peaks! This is an unfortunate side-effect of a home-based existence - you can become very physically unfit. Still, at least I got some good exercise yesterday, and with housework to do today, let's see if we can keep things moving.

Missus has developed perimenopause nausea and vomiting, which is giving me some cause for concern. Going for the simplest answer first, I will add regular doses of powdered ginger to her diet to see if that relieves it.

Having greatly reduced random thought in my mind, I'm getting new insights into how the "software" works. Thought works in chains. A thought, particularly if accompanied by an or emotion, generates other thoughts and memories that match it. I can see the advantage from an evolutionary perspective, as you can then be fully geared up for specific situations, but it can also backfire and lead to very dark moods, as one negative thought generates a string of others. A calm focused mind is thus absolutely critical to the wellbeing of both myself and others.

4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Are you clear in your own mind about what's happening to your life?

5. TODAY'S WEATHER IN BRADFORD

8. TRIVIA
The superstition that the bridegroom must not see his bride before the wedding stems from the days when marriages were arranged and the groom might never have seen the bride. There was the chance that if he saw her, he might bolt. Other sources say that to see the bride in her dress is peering into the future, which is sorcery forbidden by the Bible, and can bring bad luck.

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I now have a good system for mind-management in place that works really well. As soon as I am aware of thought-generated distress, I take it as a cue to first relax, breathing and focusing, then to submit, and allow my intuition to regain control.

Ultimately, regardless of circumstances, I intend to have such a tight rein over my mind that negative thought simply doesn't arrive in the first place. You'd think that emptying the mind sounds like becoming a zombie, but once you realize that all that thought was never actually you in the first place, but rather an internal unwanted experience, it's a wonderful liberation!

It's not that thought is evil - in fact, correctly used, it is a highly useful tool. But for that tool to be efficient, it needs to be focused on task and unclouded, and when not needed, simply silent. If you have never experienced silence in your head, I can tell you that it's ultimate bliss! Once experienced, you then desire it to be your default state.

The job of everyday decision-making is then made direct from the subconscious by the intuition. Thought is reserved for logical calculation where I have all the data.

Without all that unhelpful thought, there is the absolute minimum of distress, and so wellbeing, as mind and body become harmonious. With wellbeing and happiness comes the capacity to bring happiness to others.

4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
With my main focus on greatly-reducing thought, it feels like I am now developing on a new higher level of consciousness. From this vantage point, less clouded by thought, it's easier to look inward. In particular I can see how in my case at least, negative thought and emotion can feed off each other in an upward vicious spiral of distress. Reducing or eliminating thought stops this process in its tracks.

I am still perfecting the technique of keeping random thought in check. My working procedure follows this technique:
1. Calm the mind - by focus on breath and visualizations
2. Submit - allow the conscious mind to be taken over and commanded by the intuition
3. Listen - be conscious of all things both outside and inside the mind.

Visualization has more to do with feeling than vision. I am familiar with the feelings of being calmed and put to sleep, which when I focus on those memories calms me. I am familiar with the experience of being hypnotized, so I focus on this memory to enable me to submit. Once calm and open, listening is instinctive and easy.

Ultimately, I intend for my mind to be entirely devoid of random thought and to be guided entirely by intuition. At that point, my experience will be one of perpetual peace of mind, continually appreciated and understood by the memory of not being in that state.

8. TRIVIA
"Storm Surges" occur in the middle of hurricanes, tropical storms or deep depressions. The low air pressure in this area literally sucks up a giant disc of water up to 100 miles across and 20 feet high above the rest of the ocean. When this surge hits a coastline, it causes a devastating flood. This causes the majority of deaths in hurricanes - by drowning.

9. THE WISDOM I'VE LEARNED FROM OTHERS
