3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
My experience is that mood and circumstance are utterly beyond my control! At least, the daily ups and downs are. Yesterday for example I had a particularly smooth shift at the Weekend job and a lovely evening with Missus and Son, and consequently mood was sky high - but it wasn't really anything to do with me, it just happened to me and I simply experienced it.
At best, I can be conscious of my mood, and by observing it, dampen down its effect on my behaviour. That said, though day-to-day is something of a lottery in terms of circumstances and resultant emotional responses, long-term there is progress in my development regarding my purposes: for my character to make a difference and for my Ultimate Self to experience itself from this single point in time and space.
In the deepest part of myself, I have a wonderful peace, and when my focus is upon it, that wonderful "hum" that is given off by the universe itself, which in the Hindu tradition is called OM.
4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU

The Ganges River in India is one of the most polluted rivers in the
world. The pollution includes sewage, trash, food, and animal remains.
In some places the Ganges is septic, and corpses of semi-cremated adults
or enshrouded babies drift down the river.

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I am a little saddened by a rare clash with Son last night, over mine and Missus sex-life. I went to bed convinced of his utterly unreasonable attitude, but this morning I am a little more objective. We don't do it in front of him, but we are, I must admit, utterly indiscreet - it's no secret when we're at it. He took particular exception to being forced to be "trick-or-treat" door monitor while mum and dad went upstairs for a quickie (our second of the day). A sour atmosphere ensued for the remainder of the evening.
That said, a longstanding "deal" exists where we only indulge on Thursdays if he is at home, so it's not as if he has to continually hear us. The compromise we have is an uneasy one - I resent our sex life being restricted at all (though it saves money on Viagra) and he resents any kind of sexual activity while he is in the house (which is most of the time!)
It is the only bone of contention between us, but when it does flare up, it's upsetting for us both. Time will inevitably solve the problem on its own, as he will ultimately be at home less often. I am hoping that this recent rift will be healed by a few shared beers tonight.
4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Do you have an issue that needs dealing with?
5. TODAY'S WEATHER IN BRADFORD
Cool, dry and sunny in the morning
The afternoon will become progressively cloudy with rain arriving before evening. The rain will be persistent and heavy at times, and last until tomorrow morning.
A moderate south-westerly wind will swing to a light northerly in the evening.

8. TRIVIA
When Christopher Columbus landed on what he later named Hispaniola in 1492, the people greeted him with offerings, unaware that he was claiming their lands for Spain. By 1508, the Hispaniola's native Arawak/Taíno population had fallen from about 400,000 to just 60,000 due to the devastating social, political, ecological, and immunological effects of Spain’s arrival. Ten years later, less than 3,000 Arawak/Taínos remained alive on Hispaniola.
9. ZEN WISDOM
