3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
With my main focus on greatly-reducing thought, it feels like I am now developing on a new higher level of consciousness. From this vantage point, less clouded by thought, it's easier to look inward. In particular I can see how in my case at least, negative thought and emotion can feed off each other in an upward vicious spiral of distress. Reducing or eliminating thought stops this process in its tracks.

I am still perfecting the technique of keeping random thought in check. My working procedure follows this technique:
1. Calm the mind - by focus on breath and visualizations
2. Submit - allow the conscious mind to be taken over and commanded by the intuition
3. Listen - be conscious of all things both outside and inside the mind.

Visualization has more to do with feeling than vision. I am familiar with the feelings of being calmed and put to sleep, which when I focus on those memories calms me. I am familiar with the experience of being hypnotized, so I focus on this memory to enable me to submit. Once calm and open, listening is instinctive and easy.

Ultimately, I intend for my mind to be entirely devoid of random thought and to be guided entirely by intuition. At that point, my experience will be one of perpetual peace of mind, continually appreciated and understood by the memory of not being in that state.

8. TRIVIA
"Storm Surges" occur in the middle of hurricanes, tropical storms or deep depressions. The low air pressure in this area literally sucks up a giant disc of water up to 100 miles across and 20 feet high above the rest of the ocean. When this surge hits a coastline, it causes a devastating flood. This causes the majority of deaths in hurricanes - by drowning.
