3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I have reached a conclusion that is anathema to most libertarians - that thought is unhelpful and needs to be minimized. This comes from the meeting of three events: firstly, my experience is that unmanaged thinking triggers unwanted and unhelpful behaviour and emotions. Secondly, the realization that I am not my thoughts - thoughts are internal experiences that happen to me.

Having drawn this conclusion, and having developed the skills and techniques to calm the mind deeply enough to greatly reduce thought, peace of mind has resulted. Unclouded by unnecessary thought, it's like having a cataract removed - I can now experience life so much more clearly and fully.

In the past I would rely on thought to draw a conclusion that I would then act upon. Often though, no conclusion would be reached and the thought would just go round in circles, generating a lot of anxiety and other unhelpful emotions in the process. Now, I generally rely on intuition to guide me. Because intuition does not require words or language, which takes a lot of mental capacity, the energy saved is re-routed to bodily maintenance, which itself improves the functioning of the mind still further.

This brings me a significant step further to my ultimate spiritual objective - permanent peace of mind and continual superconsciousness - to experience life from the Universal perspective - as the Universe rather than an individual.

After birth, the human brain more than doubles to reach 60% of its adult size by the time a baby is 1 year old. By 4-5 years, the brain has reached its full size. However, it does not reach maximum computing capacity until it is 25 years old. At this point, the individual brain cells have grown the maximum number of connections between each other.

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I needn't have worried about the family finances as a healthy profit was made in May, which will comfortably fund Missus' birthday in June.

Yesterday was another day in paradise, surrounded by loved ones and creature comforts. On the spiritual front, I was reminded that the Discipline of Submission requires a calm mind. My needless mild anxiety about the family finances muddied the clarity of my perception, but it was a useful lesson about the absolute primary need for a calm mind to function at a superconscious level. It has consequently been pushed back up the agenda as the no.1 daily priority. Where meditation is not possible, lighter conscious exercises invoving focus on breath will be rigorously practised. Without a calm mind, I am effectively unconscious.

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Son's laptop seems to have survived its' encounter with a glass of water on Tuesday, so hopefully Son has learned a cheap rather than expensive lesson.

I always get a little nervous when Family Accounts day (tomorrow) approaches, but that's also a good test of my spirituality and anxiety management skills. The disciplines of Submission and Grounding are required!

I find a chant I learned from the Hatsurei Ho meditation from Reiki is helpful in this regard:
You are always connected to the Universal Source
You cannot be disconnected from the Universal Source of all life

The intention to be continually aware of this connection and to let my Higher Self/Intuition/Subconscious direct me is my prime objective at the moment.

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I was rather pleased with my somewhat Zen response to Son spilling water over his laptop last night - a reaction that would certainly have been very different to my own Father and my old self before I learned the mind-management techniques I know now. This character is a better man than my Father and the man I used to be. And of course, this has helped Son as he goes through a painful lesson. Whether his laptop dries intact and functional remains to be seen in the next day or two.

There is a greater lesson here. All things must pass - the creature comforts we may enjoy, and people, are only here temporarily and will pass, and at any moment! Of this I am fully aware, and so the future doesn't occupy a lot of my thinking. In most things I prefer to deal with them as they happen. This policy has worked for me so far!

I was also chuffed with myself successfully initiating - and completing lovemaking last night. A playful pat on missus bottom is a good test of her receptiveness. Declarations of pleasure, rather than a simple grunt, indicate that taking things further would be enjoyable. I rose to the opportunity - not guaranteed these days - and a good time was had by all. Being well-fed, hydrated and relaxed, the excitement of spontaneity and with sufficient L-argenine in the system (mainly from peanuts) seems to give me the ability to perform. Hooray!

The Discipline of Submission, where I release conscious control to my Higher Self, is also working well for me, the ultimate fulfilment of a lifelong anaesthesia fetish. I have always found the feeling and idea of being put to sleep absolutely delicious. Now I can have that experience on demand without the need for drugs or to actually lose consciousness. My consciousness simply allows itself to be "taken over" by my subconscious/Higher Self and my consciousness is free to simply feel, free of pain and anxiety. Wonderful! I am now capable of generating all the pleasure I want from within myself. Not being emotionally dependent on anyone else, I can enjoy the pleasure of the company of others without grasping or worrying.

4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Have you taken full control of your own life?

5. TODAY'S WEATHER IN BRADFORD

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Most of the time these days, I can forget that I am a carer, but with missus at home all week for the half-term holiday, I have been reminded! It's not a distressing or unpleasant duty, but it does mean I won't be getting a lot else done - Missus is rather emotionally needy! Outside of me and work, her chief activities at home are:
Escape To The Country (A TV rural property show)
The TV News
Clothes catalogues
Cunard cruise brochures
The Daily Telegraph
Miranda (a slapstick TV sitcom)
Food and phenomenal volumes of tea.
Talking to Daughter on the phone
Sending birthday cards to people

...For most of these somewhat sedentary pursuits, she likes me next to her! This of course limits what I can do outside of caring and housekeeping for her. However this is not a lament - I rather enjoy being adored and desired, and surrounded by an abundance of creature comforts, with joyless individuals purged from my home life, most days are blissful. This character is an enjoyable one to play.

Quiet times are golden opportunities to make progress on the spiritual front, and I most certainly have. The renewed emphasis on the Discipline of Submission has proved particularly helpful. I sometimes get seized by dark thoughts and daydreams. "Daymares"! I have in the past struggled for a quick response that works for me, but invoking Submission re-grounds me rapidly. My consciousness submits control to my Higher Self, in the same way a leaf might stop running itself and submit to the tree.

The individual character I play is simply an extension of what I really am. My awareness is based in the character, so to experience my true self, that awareness has to disengage from decision-making and doing and consent to be "taken over". For that to happen, you have to believe that there is much more to you than that which you can immediately sense, and having done that, trust it to control you.

Once you can do that, Submission is delicious, a highly pleasant experience! All anxiety stops, the mind becomes quiet, and ecstatic feelings of comfort overwhelm you. Nothing matters any longer, you are home, and everything is complete, with nothing left to want. Submission is a good way to lead yourself into meditation and self-hypnosis. With practice, you can submit to this Higher Self while remaining fully conscious and allow it to direct your action. To do this continually without being distracted is my ultimate spiritual aim.
