3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Though I can control (to some extent!) focus and behaviour, mood I have found to be like the weather - it originates from circumstances beyond my control and I simply have to respond to it as best as I can. This morning I am fortunate - I find my mood calm. I will embrace the moment gratefully! A calm mood is a golden opportunity to do things well and lift consciousness out of the character.

Reflecting over the past days, I have realized that conflict is inevitable. Self-pity and certainly not cowardice are not options for me. When faced with bullies, predators and platitude-mongers, this character WILL take up a weapon. Acceptance of this has probably contributed to the calm mood I have woken up with.

The best thing about calm moods is that they make internal silence much easier to achieve. Internal silence is utter BLISS! Consciousness itself generates a subtle but almost excruciatingly pleasant HUM and when your mind is silent, you can feel it, like a quiet orgasm that just keeps going. It is the most pleasant physical sensation that it's possible to experience! It's certainly a primal incentive to keep your focus in the right place.

Because mood is not entirely within my control, it's not possible for me to maintain that deep level of internal silence all the time, but I'm working on it!

4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
What is your attitude towards conflict?

9. ZEN WISDOM
Do we view old age as a period of decline ending in death, or as an ascent toward the attainment of our goals, toward bringing our life to a rewarding and satisfying conclusion? A subtle difference in our inner attitude can completely transform our experience of these years.
