A Kriegsmarine patrol flotilla is surprised and attacked by Allied forces. Kriegsmarine destroyer Z-27 and torpedo boats T-25 and T-26 are sunk by RN cruisers Glasgow and Enterprise. The rest of the flotilla scatters and safely returns to port.

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Missus returned as scheduled singing the praises of Daughter who had apparently put some thought and effort into her stay. It certainly turned out better than my worst fears. This is somewhat muted in my eyes by Daughter effectively borrowing money off us to buy alcohol and missus having to buy her a new gift from Next and exchange the one that wasn't acceptable. 

Furthermore she abandoned Missus in her bedsit on Boxing Day evening while she went to work a night shift! Daughter's "hospitality" in other words cost money and inconvenience. Allegedly (I'll believe it when the money appears in our account) we will recoup the extra financial cost and the inconvenience was Missus problem not mine. She remains in my eyes a vindictive malevolent ungrateful narcissistic parasite.

Son of course has cost us far more money this year, and indeed plunged us into debt, but I figure that is only fair and redresses the balance. He is genuinely grateful, capable of empathy, is willing to listen and his company is a joy. His very low tolerance of his mother's quirks is the one disappointment, but he at least has a conscience when he goes too far, and he knows how to say sorry.

Of my own character, I am at peace with myself, aware of the darkness and light within me and fully prepared to wield both - light to fulfil my life-purpose and darkness in self-defence. Unlike most people, to be a "good person" or a soldier of light is not my orientation. I am a True Neutral - I believe in the balance of forces and that wisdom and understanding are the noblest objectives. It is these that I seek to propagate, promote and pass on.
