3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION

As it turned out, I didn't have to spend a single penny to get a sound-mixer - at least for now. I just borrowed Son's guitar amp (which he's not currently using) and fed a microphone and backing track through it to headphones the client will wear, and it works great!! Turning up the bass and reverb, my voice sounds powerfully hypnotic! I put the backing track on a DVD with hypnotic visuals, then routed the sound output of the TV/DVD combi through the amp's auxillary input. I get to try it out on my first client today!!

Ultimately, Son will want his amp back, and having to hold the microphone whilst referring to a script is mildly awkward, so I will ultimately invest in headsets and my own sound mixer, now I've seen how good it is!

This morning I got propositioned by an online "private performer" - I was most amused! Being 52 and with erectile dysfunction, this was not a difficult distraction to turn down. All credit to the young lady concerned for staying polite after my polite rejection.

Not ending so politely is a rash of cold-calling by chuggers. I hate these predatory low-lifes with a passion! Hiding behind working for a charity, they exploit the weak and vulnerable for a commission.  Having now had a third call by three different charities, it's clearly the same marketing company they've all commissioned. Time to go on the offensive! I will be reporting them as well as never supporting that charity again ever and sending the chugger away in no doubt what I think of chuggers!
