3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I seem to have unwittingly built up considerable sleep debt over the past few days, and last night my brain demanded repayment! I crawled into bed defeated around 20:45 and aside from a wee in the small hours got up again at 5am - 8 hours is a marathon sleep by my standards!

My bodyclock has been lapsing backwards recently due to the lack of a regular routine, without me really noticing. It would suggest that even when there's nothing pressing, a structured day is still important.

The "last straw" for my brain was possibly a minor falling-out with Missus over the NEXT catalogue - over her continuing to use this company when the customer service is poor. This is a "raw nerve" for me and though I didn't "lose it", I did get annoyed. The minor but unexpected stress burned seemed to prove the tipping point for an under-rested brain! A compromise with Missus was reached where I agreed to research other catalogue companies, and suitably rested, the day begins with stability restored!

In August, though Missus is at home, a structure will return as my Practice re-starts, so Missus will have to conform to it! It's in her best interest as well as mine.

8. TRIVIA
Some children and pregnant women crave non-nutritive substances, such as paint, plaster, rocks, and dirt. These cravings may suggest the person lacks certain minerals, such as iron.

9. ZEN WISDOM
Defeat lies not in failing or making mistakes; rather, it lies in giving up on ourselves when we do so.
