3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
With Son accepting a sudden sleepover invitation, mine and Missus resultant evening of passion was tainted by DAUGHTER, who not only rang to borrow a tenner but then having got it, rudely put the phone down on her mother. Old scars were opened up!

It being clear how upset I was, Missus agreed to turn off her phone for future quality times. In the long run, being unable to disentangle from this awful young woman while Missus lives, there is no option but the disciplines of acceptance and grounding, dealing with each situation in the moment as it arises. In any situation that is overall impossible to bear, survival comes by breaking it down into a series of moments.

In addition to acceptance and grounding, there is adaption. When you have been floored by an unexpected situation, you can then empower yourself by taking steps to prevent a recurrence. This then makes acceptance easier, knowing that whilst you cannot change a situation, the "symptoms" of it can be managed or eliminated.
