3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
When I was a Christian, my justification for doing so is that "my life goes better with God in it". What I have subsequently realized is that it is actually belief that life goes better with. It's not the thing believed in but the belief itself in which the power lies. Belief will empower that believed in. From a scientific view this is best observed in the Placebo Effect - a genuine phenomenon in which people get better if they believe they will.

Any sports coach knows that belief is critical in performance, and therefore undertakes to instil it. In fact, belief is absolutely essential to the experience of wellbeing in general. This is a genuine scientific anomaly - a phenomenon that current scientific models predict should NOT happen but does

The undeniable power of belief is strong evidence for the assertion that the most primal building block of the Universe is in fact consciousness and in truth a single multi-faceted entity. It also means that you can use belief as a tool to shape your life. You can learn to believe in your ability to succeed and therefore make it happen. The so-called "Law of Attraction" is based on this premise.

The implications of this are very exciting - it means that no matter what your circumstances are, you can create the life you want just by having your thoughts focused in the right place. This is certainly my experience. I am very much living the life I want, and though circumstances are certainly not what I would choose, they don't prevent me living that desired life, and in fact even adversity ultimately improves that life further.

The power of belief and the Law of Attraction are very testable if you are prepared to use your own life as the experiment. Since doing so, my life has certainly gone better than when I pursued mythical notions of security.

4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU

7. NOW THAT'S FUNNY!

8. TRIVIA
The probability of a woman giving birth to a baby girl instead of a baby boy increases significantly the nearer the mother lives to the Equator. While the cause of this gender selection is unknown, scientists believe that the constant sunlight hours and abundant food supply in tropical regions may favour female births.
