3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I'm in the priviledged position that no one is "breathing down my neck" for stuff, and the only disciplinarian in my life is effectively me. If I don't get a lot done on a particular day, no one "sends the boys round". Life is consequently low-stress and generally enjoyable. When there is trauma, such as in my acrimonious "divorce" from Daughter, I have the time and space to heal.

I have in recent times cast off shackles of guilt, mainly by eliminating the concept of "should" from my life. "The way things should be" is a human concept with no basis of reality in it, and merely a source of unnecessary stress. There is only "how it is" and "how I want it". These days, how it is almost completely matches how I want it!

In the things I want, I have learned that you cannot choose the other who brings you happiness - such people will turn up, but it's not always the people who you would initially prefer. Most obviously in my case, you would expect your blood relatives to be the ones who bring my happiness, but I have had to expel most of mine for doing the opposite! I have come to accept this and "save up all my lovin' for the ones who are lovin' me"!

8. TRIVIA
The number "pi" (the ratio of circumference to radius of a perfect circle) has an infinite number of decimal places, but only 39 are needed to make the error negligible for even precision instruments.

9. ZEN WISDOM
The biggest obstacles to our progress exist within our own lives in the form of cowardice and the tendency to give up. Breaking through these barriers will unleash a surging wave of change.
