3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Friday was one of those days where everything went unexpectedly right - I don't normally expect Fridays to be cracking, as it is effectively my Monday, but I was able to make little crucial differences, I got the "ideal scenario" at the Weekend Job and aside from the usual fab welcome home I get from Missus, the TV was great - really funny. I can't remember going to sleep so grateful.

My learning however tells me it's not so much the circumstances of a day but how you respond to it that makes for a fulfilling life. As well as Friday being a good day, I made the correct response - gratitude. In contrast the last two Saturdays have been soured by encountering the wrong members of the public, resulting in altercations. My responses however were the correct ones, measured rather than the psychopathic responses I'm capable of. The "Man On The Clapham Omnibus" (the legal term for a "reasonable man") would have approved!

I have found my own emotions to be rather like weather - highly unpredictable, but inevitable, so it is important to be prepared, whether it's joy, rage or distress. Knowing the correct response in each case is the key. I have a harder job than most because my emotions are so intense and extreme - it's taken me two-thirds of a lifetime to really understand how to manage them - and I've had no help by the way. What has really helped me in this is having loved ones. Knowing the happiness of others depends on your ability to manage yourself is the ultimate incentive to do so.

8. TRIVIA
Because Pluto’s moon Charon and Pluto actually orbit each other, Charon appears to stand still in Pluto’s sky. Additionally, the same sides of Pluto and Charon always face each other.

9. ZEN WISDOM
Each of us, no matter how weak or ineffectual we may feel ourselves to be, must build deep within our hearts a stronghold for peace, one that will be capable of withstanding and in the end silencing the incessant calls to war.
