3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
My routine is still disrupted and I'm still cranky! That said, things are improving. Virgin Media have finally restored the broadband connection, Missus appears to be recovering from the latest of her tummy bugs, and being given suitable time and space, I am at least less cranky. I am a little disappointed in myself at how my mood is so affected by the trivial. Paradoxically, in a major crisis I tend to be brilliant. Son, probably rightly, has pointed out that at least it's better that way round!

Nevertheless, I really don't want to turn into an ogre every time someone or something doesn't do what I expect it to, because those things are inevitable. Next time I intend to respond much more positively. My training tells me that you have to be mentally prepared for an event before it arrives so I will be very focused on my mental/emotional responses to things.

4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Is there anything you need to react better to?

6. TODAY'S ONELINER

8. TRIVIA
A study of college students who had just been dumped showed they had strong activity in the brain associated with the insular cortex, the part of the brain that experiences physical pain.

9. ZEN WISDOM
Without dialogue, humans are fated to walk in the darkness of their own dogmatic self-righteousness. Dialogue is the lamp by which we dispel that darkness, lighting and making visible for each other our steps and the path ahead.
