3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Today promises to begin on a "flyer" with Son and Missus both recovering from mystery illnesses and back at college/work and myself having got a little in front. Mood today thus starts off higher than yesterday.
Peace of mind is currently perpetual, but mood still inevitably swings. However unlike in previous times it doesn't dictate my behaviour. If anything, a low mood drives my focus to the moment where I can do something positive.
Something of an internal revolution has occurred in the way I view internal thoughts, feelings, emotions and moods. I no longer see them as things I do and feel, but rather as events localized within this body. They're not "me" but things that are experienced only at a single point of consciousness.
This is very liberating - you are freed from guilt and self-doubt, and learn that you can alter events, both internal and external, simply by changing what you focus on. It's a very exciting discovery and a power I have only very recently discovered, and I'm still an enthusiastic novice at wielding.
4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Are your thoughts and feelings "you" or happening to you?
5. TODAY'S WEATHER IN BRADFORD
Dry and cloudy start
Rain arrives by 8am and will persist, heavy at times, until around 4pm
Dry and overcast thereafter, but there will be heavy isolated showers in the late evening.
A consistent light south-easterly will swing south-westerly overnight
Max Temp = 7 degC
Min Temp = 2 degC
Sunrise at 07:23
Sunset at 17:20
6. TODAY'S ONELINER
All parents of teenagers should own a dog, so when you get home, at least someone is happy to see you : D
7. NOW THAT'S FUNNY!
Things you wouldn't hear on a DIY show - very good!
8. TRIVIA
The inner core of the Earth, though hotter, is solid, whereas the cooler outer core, though still very hot, is liquid. This is because the iron and nickel of the inner core is made of heavier isotopes , so is denser and under greater pressure. The remainder of the Earth is predominantly silicate compounds.
9. ZEN WISDOM
Each person possesses a precious inner treasure of infinite worth. To
remain unaware of this and stumble about in spiritual poverty is a
tragic waste. In contrast, a person fully awakened to the jewel-like
dignity of their own life is capable of truly respecting that treasure
in others.
