3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Despite boiler problems at home and a busy day at the Weekend job where my ghastly boss was buzzing around, the day felt reasonably successful. I was able to bring my focus back to the moment when it wandered, and addressed the leaking boiler issue, as well as having an enjoyable hour or so with Son and Missus.
I have been slow to get it, but I now fully appreciate that fulfilment comes not from my circumstances but my response to them. Where negative, I do something positive, and where they are good, I express profoind gratitude. At all times I acknowledge my fallibility and vulnerability, and express thanks that for another day I haven't been broken.
4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU

The first written account of a shark attack is found in Herodotus’ (c.
484–425 B.C.) description of hordes of “monsters” devouring the
shipwrecked sailors of the Persian fleet.
9. ZEN WISDOM
Human life is indeed wondrous. You may be ill physically, but as long as
your spirit is strong, it most certainly will exert a positive
influence on your body. There may be no better remedy than hope.
