3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Any hope that this virus would keep out of my lungs has now been scuppered and it's a case of how bad the damage is going to be. The last infection in January 2012 took out my entire lung lining and required four months to regenerate. The nasal cavity, though still infected, feels more comfortable this morning, so at this point it's the usual routine - rest, keep warm and plenty of fluids, with positive focus on eliminating the invader and healing.

I awoke at the almost unheard of hour of 08:00 - virtually the middle of the day by my standards! No bad thing when you're fighting a virus. This is now day 2 of a five-day chillout at home with the family. There's no good time to be infected but five days with not a lot going on is good conditions to tackle it, and the first run of dry weather since last Summer also helps to raise morale.

It's also a golden opportunity to pursue my current mental/spiritual objective of Total Internal Silence. I have modified my mantra slightly to RELAX, BREATHE, LISTEN and made a visual aid my desktop to keep me focused. I will also print some off this week to put up around the house.

4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Are you making the best use of the circumstances you are in

6. TODAY'S ONELINER

7. NOW THAT'S FUNNY!
Frankie Boyle impersonates Michael Jackson

8. TRIVIA
Having sex at least once per week can lower a man’s risk of heart disease by 30%, stroke by 50%, and diabetes by 40%. It has also been shown that men with an active sex life are more likely to live past 80 years.

9. ZEN WISDOM
The seeds of firm conviction already contain within them the flowers and fruits of happiness. But if we plant the seeds of self-doubt, naturally, only noxious weeds will sprout.
