3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Missus is now forced to compile a list of interesting subjects to talk about before phoning Daughter to satisfy Daughter's demand for "interesting conversation". Son on discovering this was understandably outraged. I have been more accepting of the whole thing, understanding both Daughter's mental illness and Missus' need to be a dutiful mother.

My prime concern must be the wellbeing of Missus, which requires her to have unfettered communication with Daughter. Thus however unreasonable and generally appalling Daughter is in the treatment of her mother, I can only keep a watchful eye, intervening only if Missus becomes distressed. At present, that isn't the case. A positive to come out of the situation is Son's resolve to treat his mum well, as he has become appalled at the deranged attitude of Daughter.

Daughter however is sufficiently distant to be unable to spoil the happiest phase of my life thus far, and if anything, the watchfulness Daughter forces me to employ preserves that happiness against all currently distant threats.

My physical body has been noticably malfunctional of late. Fungus in my left foot has proved only controllable not eradicable, and frequently flares up. Full Hyperopia (long-sightedness), almost certainly inherited, has set in. Erectile Dysfunction is a permanent fixture. A muscle strain in my left arm is proving slow to heal and I have picked up an infection in my right ear.

However, due to the healthy state of my mind, I am not suffering with these ailments. I am quite sufficiently functional to do everything I wish to, and so long as reading glasses are kept with me at all times, I can see what I want to see, and thanks to little blue tablets, Missus libido is  continuing to be satisfied. Strained arm and infected ear will undoubtedly heal. Again, these ailments keep me grounded, and aware of my vulnerability and mortality, so prompting me to always savour the moment.
