3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Going to bed last night was an odd experience which could only happen to a fiftysomething male. You may be familiar with the expression "eyes bigger than belly". I get "urge bigger than equipment". With Missus already deeply anesthetized by her nightly dose of olanzapine, I thought I was up for some personal amusement, only to discover I had started what I couldn't finish and all I got was sweaty!

It's taken some time for me to accept that ED now extends to my "solo life" as well as love life. In the late evenings I'm just not capable without chemical assistance even on my own! In future, no matter how up for it I think I am at night, I will leave myself alone - I'm not going to spend blue tablets on "supper for one"!

Having given up, I went for a wee and then back in bed found my consciousness trapped in trance - not awake enough to get up, not sleepy enough to lose awareness. Finally at around what I estimate to be 00:45 I finally did slip into sleep.

Having already been fully reconciled with ageing and death, and realizing that the concept of an individual self is an illusion, I find the ageing process interesting to observe rather than depressing - apart from losing the ability to read without glasses, which is most annoying!

4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Is there anything that it's time to let go of?

5. TODAY'S WEATHER IN BRADFORD
Dry throughout, and sunny after a cloudy start

Sunrise at 05:13

Weathertrack: Britain is between a depression to the north and an anticyclone to the south. A weak cold front crossing the country today will have little impact.
Air Pressure: 1014 millibars and static

6. TODAY'S ONELINER
I ran into my ex yesterday - I was sure the light was still green :D

7. NOW THAT'S FUNNY!

8. TRIVIA
The first picture to sweep all five major Oscars—winning for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Screenplay (adaptation)—was Frank Capra’s It Happened One Night (1934) starring Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert. The second movie to do the same was One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975).

9. ZEN WISDOM
People who can admire true greatness are happy people. By opening wide the doors of our hearts we can broaden our own horizons and strengthen our belief in life. A breakdown in this capacity to praise and respect others can lead to inflexibility and self-righteousness.
