3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
They say when you fall off a horse, you need to get back on the horse straight away. I suppose you can say the same about my return to the Weekend Job yesterday, which was thankfully unremarkable. The emotional impact of last week's single encounter with one customer was highly disproportionate to the significance, but struck so squarely on my raw nerve that it has been on my mind every day since.

It has led me to look deeper into myself to clarify what the raw nerve actually is. It's clear enough what sets it off - public denuciation, but it's harder to understand why it should affect me so severely. I have to conclude it is childhood experience between 4 and 14 when I was starved of any meaningful approval and generally got a lot of undeserved grief.

My self-prescription is inner-child therapy. The person I am now visits the child I was then and reassures and comforts him, and takes over looking after him. Bad things are done to innocents - that's how it is, but it helps to understand that those with the job of looking after you fail, and being prey to predators is just the predators being themselves. Surviving neglect and bullying brings inner strength as well as scars. On behalf of the inner child, now under my care, predators will be fought, the negligent will be called to account and all those in my own care will be treated right!

8. TRIVIA
Professor Stephen Hawking's artificial voice software is now obselete, but he continues to use it as it is so associated with him, he sees it as his own distinctive trademark and wants to keep it. The motor neurone disease that he is suffering should have killed him many years ago. No one can explain why, though progressing, it is doing so very slowly.
