3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
In previous years, the main feeling after sex was physical relief, an "ooh that's better" experience. These days, the relief comes from having successfully completed the task! Not that sex is unenjoyable, but I can take it or leave it. I get more joy from having my furry back scratched before going to sleep - now that's bliss!

Nevertheless, I pursue an "orgasm a day" policy for health reasons. There are many positive effects on wellbeing, the most important being the significantly reduced risk of prostate cancer. Generally with the body, the secret of health in later life is to keep everything moving - the only pearl of wisdom from my mother I've ever appreciated.

Missus long sexual lay-off due to illness thus did not leave me in any way frustrated as it would have done in previous decades, or have any detrimental effect on our relationship. I was simply pleased that I could "deliver" on the return of her libido. Sex remains important to missus, not only because she still gets horny occasionally, but for intimacy reasons - it is a consummation of the relationship, a reassurance that all is well - which it is.

You might find it hard to believe that you can have a blissful relationship with a genuine bona fide medically-certified Paranoid Schizophrenic, and so would I, were it not for the fact that I'm having one. The unique set of circumstances and mindsets means that it works better than most marriages between two mentally healthy folk. I can only be profoundly grateful.
