3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
A smooth shift 2 of the Weekend Job and pleasant late evening with missus was a blessing, leaving mind free to hunt around for the perfect place for my attention. I'll know when I've found it because I'll have perpetual peace of mind regardless of the circumstances. I haven't got "spot on" yet but an attitude of surrender helped.

Surrender in a spiritual context does not mean simply giving up, but rather to subordinate the will of the ego to that of the Higher Self. Faith is required to accept the concept of the Higher Self and that you'll receive the right instructions from it.

So what is the "Higher Self"? Put succintly, it is the collective consciousness of the Universe, which you experience through your intuition. To tap into it, you have to first give up attempting to logically calculate a way through your current circumstances. Instead, you relax, focus on your intention and trust in your intuition to guide you, moment by moment.

Of course, at times when you feel threatened or your emotions are highly charged, primal urges take over and you can't achieve that state of relaxation. The answer is to "make hay while the sun shines" - when you can relax, do so and listen to your intuition. With continued practice, you can achieve "Cosmic Consciousness" for increasingly longer lengths of time. You become harder to upset, and when you do feel fear, you accept it's there but carry on anyway.

My most recent lesson is that you can become distracted by outcomes past, present and possible. Instead of resenting and struggling against them, it's best to focus instead on future outcomes preferred, and listen out for your intuition to guide you to the next step towards it in the current moment.

Relax, feel fear but keep moving anyway, foresee what you want, listen and be guided towards it.
