3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
The loss of Shadow, one of our cats, missing presumed dead, has hit Son hard. At least I knew all the right things to do and say. Personally, because of my higher understanding of the universe, I am very accepting of this sort of thing. Missus has also proved surprisingly philosophical, though this is somewhat aided by powerful antipsychotic medication.

I have learned that a happy fulfilled life does not mean the absence of either challenges or sadness, but rather an acceptance and suitable response to them. Despite this latest sadness I feel a deep, rich fulfilling contentment.
