1. ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY
22nd February 2006
The Securitas Depot Robbery
This was Britain's greatest ever robbery at over £53 million, from Securitas Cash Management Ltd, in Tonbridge, Kent. Depot manager Colin Dixon and his family were kidnapped then after being threatened, were driven to the depot itself where Dixon gave them access around 1am. The family and staff were subsequently locked in separate cash cages before the gang fled. One member of staff had a key to the cage she was locked in, and managed to find and free everyone else, but it took half an hour to free everyone and raise the alarm.
The investigation to catch the robbers got a big break a month later when one of the robbers' girlfriends tried to deposit £6,000 in cash in her local building society. Three days later, after a tip-off, a van containing £1.3 million was discovered. From this, the robbers began to be gradually tracked down.
On 28 January 2008, the jury returned guilty verdicts on Stuart Royle, Jetmir Bucpapa, Roger Coutts, Lea Rusha and Emir Hysenaj. The next day Emir Hysenaj was sentenced to 20 years in prison with an order that he serve a minimum of 10 years. Stuart Royle, Lea Rusha, Jetmir Bucpapa and Roger Coutts were given life sentences with an order that they serve a minimum of 15 years.
Prosecutors later decided to drop charges against Kim Shackleton, Raluca Millen and Katie Philp, the girlfriends of Royle, Bucpapa and Rusha respectively. Millen and Philp had been charged with conspiracy to rob, conspiracy to kidnap and conspiracy to possess firearms. Shackleton had been charged with assisting an offender. John Fowler, on whose property some of the money was found, Michelle Hogg, who made the gang's prosthetic disguises, and Keith Borer were all also acquitted.
Subsequently, Kayenide 'Kane' Patterson, whom the police and CPS believe to be a key player in both the robbery and kidnapping, still remains missing presumably residing in the West Indies with a large quantity of the stolen money.
On 1 June 2010, Murray was jailed in Morocco for ten years for his part in the robbery; the sentence was later increased to 25 years.

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
If you had paranoid schizophrenia and were heavily medicated with olanzapine to control it, you'd go blank occasionally too, losing threads of conversation and concentration. Ex-Daughter however, lost in her own self-orientated narcissistic perception of "reality" has never made any allowances at all for the way her mother is, so decided in her usual heartless ignorant manner to pick her mother up on this deficiency.
Poor Missus consequently came home with all her self-confidence destroyed and was subdued for the rest of the weekend. When she gets distressed in this way, she responds by sleeping even more than normal. She consequently spent more of the weekend asleep than awake. And yet she still does nothing but send messages of loving support to this poisonous utterly self-absorbed individual.
Unfortunately, with Missus mothering instinct so strong, and ex-Daughter so ignorant, all I can do is damage limitation. Keeping a shepherd's eye on their interactions, I can only build Missus back up again after her visits and intervene when ex-Daughter becomes too great a threat to Missus' wellbeing.

9. ZEN WISDOM
When we care for others our own strength to live increases. When we help people expand their state of life, our lives also expand. Actions to benefit others are not separate from actions to benefit oneself. Our lives and the lives of others are ultimately inseparable.
