7th February 1907
The Mud March 
Mud March was the name given, after the event, to the first large procession organised by the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies (NUWSS) on 7 February 1907. More than 3,000 women trudged through the wet, cold and muddy streets of London from Hyde Park to Exeter Hall to advocate for women's suffrage.

Millicent Fawcett, the leader of the NUWSS and one of the leaders of the march, said of the elements: "The London weather did its worst against us; mud, mud, mud, was its prominent feature, and it was known among us afterwards as the 'mud march.'" Despite the conditions, the march was described as: "A gay enough procession by most accounts, despite the weather. Little touches of red and white splashed its length with rosettes and favours, posies bound with red and white handkerchiefs programmes, and above the line, white banners with vivid scarlet lettering."

The march was attended by "titled women, university women, artists, members of women's clubs, temperance advocates, and women textile workers gathered from all parts of the country." More than forty organisations were represented at the march.

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION

As much as this character would love to claim to be some sort of superior class of human being, the reality is that what wisdom, skills and understanding I have derives from Physics, a mass-occurrence way beyond my influence. I have become convinced that the interactive nature of life is totally illusional and what we're really in is not a video game but a movie. 

Everything that happens is the inevitable consequence of the laws of Physics, BUT it feels interactive because the number of ingredients in the mix is so vast that the trajectory of any particular person is impossible to predict. The OUTCOME of all things is however entirely predictable and simple - they end!

This would all seem rather bleak were it not for the fact that "things" aren't actually there at all in the first place! THERE IS NOTHING HERE! It's all just interacting energy. THERE IS NO "STUFF"! There's nothing to lose because there's nothing here in the first place, just an experience of energy experiencing itself. 

With all this being a matter of measurable scientific fact, I find the reaction of people to it truly fascinating - they simply ignore it, and throw themselves into their own delusions of reality. I however, as much as this character participates in it, am constantly aware of what an illusion it all is. What this character really is amounts to a temporary node of awareness, gathering, processing and passing on data to other temporary nodes in the form of genes and memes.

Most people are simply conscious, reacting to their own idea of reality they themselves have created. A few of us however are "superconscious" - our awareness exists in the universe rather than in an illusion. This of course still leaves an unanswered question. If what we are cannot be separated from the universe, WHAT IS THE UNIVERSE? You can say it is a field of potential that manifests events, but what causes the potential?

The answer at this point is INSUFFICIENT DATA. Through some superconscious human beings the universe manifests CURIOSITY and is currently engaged in the process of understanding itself. Meantime, this character will continue to fulfil its own self-chosen purpose of making a difference and passing on memes. 

Oh, I suppose I'd better make a best guess. This character's guess is that everything is a thought within a vast mind, too vast for a single node of awareness to comprehend, until there are enough nodes working together in harmony that all the nodes can see it. However even then they may be more, a vast onion of minds within minds.

And this character's most important memes? Be aware of what you really are, and as a character, help other characters to see it too, and do things that promote your character's peace of mind. At the same time, defend your character's agenda from the selfish agendas of others.
