3. TODAY'S SELF OBSERVATION
A smooth second shift of the Weekend Job gave me the opportunity to focus on improving my ability to stay grounded. Rummaging through my knowledge gave me a powerful new visualisation to focus on that worked quite well, and I will be passing it on to my clients.
I note with interest that science is catching up with and vindicating nondualist philosophy, in particular that the self does not exist other than as a powerful pervasive illusion. Neuroscience has found that there is no seat of consciousness in the brain, and that the brain acts before there is conscious awareness of making a decision to. Physical unconsciousness is simply the lack of communication between different regions of the brain, preventing the formation of memory.
Without memory, there can be no concept of self. It is possible to adopt a frame of mind that doesn't trigger conscious memory of "self", and in this mode there is just experience - rather than somebody doing something, there are simply changes in types of energy happening. Becoming truly aware of what's going on thus results in the death of the concept of an individual self.
This leads to the question of why you'd want your concept of self to die anyway. If your experience of self is positive, the answer is none - there is no incentive to raise your consciousness higher. However for myself, the experience of self has been frightening and upsetting. Higher consciousness offers an escape from this suffering, and to introduce new and different experience.
And that's the bottom line... to move towards the experience of peace. The intentions that arise are simply a consequence of that movement.

A “mega-tsunami” is a tsunami with extremely high waves and is usually caused by a landslide. A mega-tsunami occurred at Lituya Bay, Alaska, in 1958, creating the tallest tsunami ever recorded at 1,700 feet (534 m) high. Miraculously, only two people died.
