3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
The major brake on my ability to influence others is my own very powerful emotions. I often contemplate what power I could wield if they were not so intense! As it is, especially at the Weekend Job, my skills are mostly directed inward rather than outward, keeping myself under control.
With relentless persistence, deeply ingrained subconscious emotional reactions may ultimately cease, but it's taken me until I'm 50 to get this far! However, I have made great progress, and my behaviour is no longer out of control like it used to be - I am at least now well-managed and not inflicting rage on my loved ones or the innocent in general. Considering that I'm quite capable of anything in the absence of self-management, to be an individual who makes a positive difference is in itself an achievement to be proud of.
I do exert some positive influence over people in a way I would not prefer - through the dark emotions. I have no fear of confrontations or brandishing hate and anger at those who are in some way attempting to make my life more difficult to serve their own agenda. People in corporate environments tend to be unprepared for this reponse and will avoid evoking it if possible. Consequently, so long as I remember I'm not invincible, and don't push things too far, I generally get my way. One confrontation over one issue with one individual is usually enough to ensure that person no longer gives me any grief over that issue.

8. TRIVIA
Most animals cannot sweat - mammals depend on panting to lose heat - a much less efficient method. Humans can consequently survive in the heat much better than other mammals, so long as they have access to enough water to rehydrate. Hunters used to exploit this fact, running down a specific animal such as an antelope for several days until it collapsed with heat exhaustion.
