3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
"Holiday At Home" has been fabulous so far, doing not a lot, but it's getting to the point where Son and Missus will start expecting me to arrange entertainments for them! This I don't mind. Being Missus' full-time carer, it's part of the job. Quality time with Son is a joy as I'm able to give him all the quality time, resources and guidance that I never got. I am committed to the path of making a difference as a life-purpose, rather than self-aggrandisement, so I am happy to trust in the universe to provide the resources as I focus on that aim.

My life-experience so far has taught me the fundamental importance of faith and belief in leading a fulfilled life. It is impossible to do anything meaningful without making certain assumptions, for example that you won't die if you walk out of the door, or that you're doing something worthwhile and are fully capable of doing it.

From the evidence I have studied, I have concluded that there is enormous power in the act of belief to effect change in ways and by mechanisms that are not fully understood. The Placebo Effect is a particular case in point - a genuine phenomenon and scientific anomaly. People who believe a chemically inert substance will help them do genuinely improve. The current scientific understanding predicts that this should NOT happen, but it DOES.

This leads to an important life-principle - it is not necessary to understand a phenomenon in order to make use of it, it only needs the knowledge that it happens. Consequently, I have come to the conclusion that to believe in what you're doing is absolutely critical in making a success of it.

I have embraced a further belief critical to happiness and success - the so called Law of Attraction, though it isn't a scientific law but a hypothesis - that what you are mentally focused on will manifest in your experience. That assumption made, the ability to focus on that desired rather than that feared is absolutely crucial to success and happiness.

My life experience has become my laboratory where I test out my theories about life, and my results so far lead me to conclude that I'm now living life right!
