3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I have learned much about mind-management, but this does not unfortunately make my self-control absolute! Certain events, such as a string of minor adversities, are capable of setting off adrenalin surges that can override my intuition and reason. The brain's function is not independent of chemical influence, particularly the mind-hormones like seratonin, dopamine, and adrenalin!  Missus own illness for example is probably due to an imbalance of seratonin that is countered by antipsychotic medication.

In short, for all my advances in mind-management, I am not immune to outside influences and can be broken by them, mentally and physically. This is part of the Robust House Principle. You can build a house robust enough to be immune to strong breeze, but not not a tornado. However, since breezes are very common and tornados (in one place) are rare, it makes sense to build a robust house.

I have come to accept that I can and will be upset by external events that disrupt the wellbeing of my mind. There is nothing I can do about this. What I can do however is employ techniques that considerably increase the speed of recovery, and prevent disruption by internal factors such as memory. I have made excellent progress in this at least, recovering quickly from external provocation, avoiding external provocation wherever possible, purging people who cause it from my personal life, and maintaining mental disciplines that keep my mental wellbeing robust.

8. TRIVIA
Worldwide, women are nearly twice as likely to be blind or visually impaired as men. Experts attribute this difference to the greater longevity of women (leading to more age-related visual impairment) and specific eye diseases that are intrinsically more common in women, such as dry eye syndrome and Fuch’s Dystrophy.

9. ZEN WISDOM
Wisdom by its own nature is compelled to reach for higher than where it is.
