3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
With a five-week shopping month, my practice being very quiet and and a hefty gas bill, the finances are not looking good reading for the end of the month. Mild austerity measures may turn into severe austerity measures if things get worse!

To put things in perspective, our financial concerns are a lot less than many, and I don't forget that on the world-scale I am living in paradise. I remain profoundly grateful.

I have been contemplating the nature of good and evil. From inward knowledge of myself and the study of history I know that most people are not intrinsically good or evil - I am well aware of the capacity for both within myself. What we actually end up doing is a product of our situations and experiences. Most people could equally possibly end up labelled a great hero or a vile being depending on what they faced in their lives.

I am therefore profoundly grateful to thus far not have been put in positions where my darkest side would manifest, but rather be in a position to make a difference. Though I am delighted to make a handful very happy, I see my main role as passing on the knowledge I have accumulated while I still can, so that the flame of Enlightenment and learning may be kept alight amidst the general ignorance experienced by the majority of humanity.
