3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Today marks the last "slob day" before the holiday ends and I start getting stuff done! For the men of the house, we are ready for it as we have been inevitably "getting under each other's feet", and I got rather snappy at Son who chose parents bedtime/teeth-cleaning time to have a bath.

He was somewhat taken aback by this sudden aggression on my part, not seeing that it was the last straw after having to listen to him talk continual nihilistic rubbish and display intolerance of his mother throughout the Christmas period. What we both need is to get back into self-development and making a difference in our own ways.

Not that it was a bad holiday - far from it! We all got to indulge ourselves and did what we wanted to do. But of course a rest is for the purpose of preparation for action, and having fulfilled its purpose, it becomes unhealthy in excess, the same as work. So it is time for the wheel to turn once more and to get moving.

9. ZEN WISDOM
When we are aware that each moment of each day, each gesture and step we take, is truly mystical and full of potential, we will live our lives with greater thought and care. We will also have greater respect and appreciation for the lives of others.
