3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
A challenge in keeping my consciousness in the right place is the level of concentration required! By default, consciousness settles in the ego. To get the ego to submit and let the Higher Self take care of things requires daily ongoing discipline. As soon as you relax that discipline, you are back at square one!

To achieve my aim of reducing the ego to a mere observation port, I require a ritual of faith and surrender in the morning, continual focus on breath throughout the day and a meditation in the afternoon. However, for all the effort needed, there's a peace of mind that comes from knowing what to do and reaping the rewards of it.

8. TRIVIA
Pope Innocent III (1160/1-1216) declared that a waiting period should be observed between betrothal and marriage, which led to separate engagement and wedding rings. The first recorded account of a diamond engagement ring was in 1477 when King Maximilian I of Germany (1459-1519) proposed to Mary of Burgundy (1457-1482) and offered her a diamond to seal his vow.

9. ZEN WISDOM
Happiness is not something far away. It is to be found neither in fame nor in popularity. When you live with integrity, your hearts begin to fill with a happiness as vast as the universe. It’s about being true to yourself and starting from where you are.
