3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
My appetite, quiet since the "Weekend Job Affair" which began at the end of March and finally ended on the 7th June, has been suppressed, suddenly roared back into life today. I was ravenous at breakfast, again mid-afternnon, and "munchy" in the late evening. I strongly suspect that a bout of Gastritis has healed itself.
Another interesting observation is very early waking - up with the dawn, which is currently around 04:30. This means I've only been averaging 5 hours sleep, although I have also been faithfully meditating around an hour a day as well. these physical changes are beyond my conscious control so I have just gone with it rather than be concerned.
What I have been consciously struggling with is where to put my focus in order to manage my emotions. After some experimentation and trial-an-error, I finally latched on the the preferred emotion, which in my case is peace-of-mind. So far it has worked very well at least in the face of internally-distracting thought, and I can feel beneficial effects in my body.
Whereas previously I have focused on things that I expected to bring peace of mind, I have now focused on the desired feeling itself, in trust and expectation that perception will alter to fit that emotion.. The experiment is at an early stage, but so far so good!

7. NOW THAT'S FUNNY!
Stress causes capillaries to close, which restricts bleeding if a flesh wound should occur.
Keep moving forward, even one or two steps, in your own way. Those who
live out their lives to the fullest, unperturbed by the noisy clamor
around them, are the true winners.
