3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
It has been a week dominated by the trivial but exasperating affair of Son's mobile. It has been something of a "defeat" in the sense that it caused me to lose my composure. A "raw nerve" of mine is bad customer service and not being able to get my hands on the perpetrator. Inevitably in such incidents, Son and Missus get the fallout of my rage.

However, with the incident now concluded I will follow the wisdom of the Dalai Lama: When you lose, don't lose the lesson - and while I'm at it the wisdom of Zig Ziglar: It's all about our choices - we all have the same 24 hours

The bottom line is that my suffering is a direct consequence of the nature of my mind. Circumstances merely trigger a weakness that is internal. Once, the circumstance has occurred, it's already too late if I was not mentally prepared for it.

Clearly in this incident I was not mentally prepared, so where did I go wrong? I little doubt that it was ultimately an all-round lack of faith, particularly in the universe/my Higher Self to turn the situation around. My powerless ego, instead of handing the situation over, exploded.

Setbacks, disappointments and frustrations are inevitable. NEXT time I want to be better prepared. I have no doubt what I need to do - invest absolute faith in Higher Self on a moment-by-moment basis. I do NOT wish to re-learn this lesson!
