3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
The main event of Saturday was the re-appearance of "Slime-Woman from Human Resources" at the Weekend Job. It was bad enough that she was in the building, but she was the first face I saw on the shop-floor as well. It kinda ruined my day! I was kinda hoping I would never see this woman's face ever again, but personnel changes don't take effect until October.
On the plus side, she did not "get in my face" and the "cloud lifted" when she departed halfway through my shift. By the time I got home, positive demeanor was restored.
My experiences this year have served to confirm a belief which separates me from many spiritual people - I do NOT believe that the universe is love and light in essential character. Neither is it dark in character either. The universe is amoral consciousness in character, expressing itself in both positive and negative energy, in a balance that always adds up to zero - light and dark, positive and negative, are two ends of the same pole.
Consequently a balanced life involves the wielding of both types of energy in appropriate contexts - love and light for the receptive, wrath and darkness in defence against predators. I have no doubt of this at all. Since adopting this philosophy I have seen my loving relationships deepen, my followers expand and the predators and tormentors retreat. Though still experiencing turbulent emotions on occasion, I am with myself at peace.
4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU

8. TRIVIA
Bears can see almost as well as humans, and they can hear a little
better. But they can smell much better. In fact, a bear’s sense of smell
is around 100 times greater than a human’s. Polar bears can track down
an odor from 20 miles (32 km) away. They can smell a dead seal under 3
feet of solid ice.
9. ZEN WISDOM
When you devote yourself to achieving your goal, you will not be
bothered by shallow criticism. Nothing important can be accomplished if
you allow yourself to be swayed by some trifling matter, always looking
over your shoulder and wondering what others are saying or thinking. The
key to achievement is to move forward along your chosen path with firm
determination.
