3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Internal silence is very much at the forefront of my agenda at the moment, as my thought unrestrained tends to wander into all manner of dark places, many not even memories or genuine worries but imagined scenarios. What's going on is the mental equivalent of an allergy - the mind attempting to protect me inappropriately and actually causing harm.

My consciousness did not have any choice over the brain (hardware) or mind (software) it was given, so it's a case of accepting that it's not the most efficient kit and to adopt practices and disciplines that prevent "overheating".

I often wonder about the power I could wield if all my knowledge and effort spent on keeping internal order was instead used to influence others - how awesome! Perhaps it is best for the sake of others that it is not! I am fully aware how power corrupts and distorts perspective. My perspective right now is almost ideal from the point of teaching and healing and I would not want to alter it.

6. TODAY'S ONELINER

8. TRIVIA
Grinning or pulling the lip is a sign of aggression in monkeys, along with yawning, head bobbing, and jerking the head and shoulders forward.

9. ZEN WISDOM
The fortitude to fight on through to the very end—this strength is not only the basis of happiness, it is also the force by which social wrongs can be righted.
