3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I have returned to blogging four days after being distracted by other pursuits! I feel better for the break and getting my rocks off. A good break is ideal for regaining perspective and balance, but it's then also good to return to the comforting structure of discipline and routine.
I was rather upset by a bruising indirect encounter with Daughter via her mother and it took me a few days to recover from it. On the other hand, her utterly loveless total hatred of me (which has no logical foundation) makes things simple. She is simply a parasite which though cannot be safely extracted from her mother but can at least be controlled. The total acceptance of this reality means I can get on with other aspects of my life, responding only when there is a threat either to finances or Missus' wellbeing.
I continue of course to have the complete opposite experience with Son and Missus. I guess two out of three aint bad! At least in my generation the history of utter dysfunctionality in the Blonder family has been partly reversed. I look forward to nuturing them, caring for them and being there for them for two or three decades more.
On the spiritual front it has been good to resume a regular meditation regime and experience the bliss of a calm mind. I ultimate intend to withdraw my consciousness entirely from the character and simply observe it in action with interest. I realize that to do that requires continual practice of the disciplines I have learned.
