3. TODAY'S SELF OBSERVATION
After some experimentation I am confident that thanks to my surprise discovery regarding nutrition, erections on demand have returned! I can now relax and just meet missus needs as required, without needing to take a tablet in advance. This doesn't mean I now have a teenager's libido, and I wouldn't want that anyway. I like the ability to be able to think about other things, and so long as I can perform on cue, my masculine ego is satisfied.
Two final days of festive fun are before me, although I have various duties to do in this morning, so it's really more like a day and a half. I shall enjoy them! For me, enjoyment means the creature comforts of home. I have absolutely urge to socialise at all, even on New Year's Eve, and haven't done for a long time. Missus absolutely worships me and is the only company I need, and fortunately she feels the same, so don't feel sorry for us, we will be enjoying ourselves!
4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Are you honest with yourself about what you really enjoy?
5. TODAY'S WEATHER IN BRADFORD
Heavy blustery showers in the morning will clear by late afternoon. It will then be dry in the evening, but there will be scattered showers overnight.
Wind will be strong and south-westerly in the morning, veering westerly in the afternoon.

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
It's PEANUTS!! I've no doubt. My libido and erectile function are enjoying a revival that only started when I indulged in one of my fave Christmas treats. The clincher was last night - for the first time in years I was up for it after bedtime. Missus of course is as delighted as me! It must be whole roasted peanuts rather than peanut butter, which I eat throughout the year. I will now carry on eating whole peanuts daily, substituting a meal for them. If libido keeps up by the end of January I will have incontestable proof.
Daughter departed on schedule, and much to the delight of Son, the Lounge has been "liberated". Her stay was in one sense a great success - I found that accepting how she is and working around it avoided friction. Daughter herself is unfortunately in a bad way. Her complexion was awful, her morale on the floor. More worrying is that she is utterly oblivious to how selfish she is. After being highly inconsiderate and insensitive to her brother, she was utterly bemused and clueless as to why he was so pissed off. Unfortunately she wouldn't have accepted it if she was told. I fear more suffering awaits her before she finally gets it.

8. TRIVIA
Nitrogen comprises 80% of the air and is normally a harmless inert gas. At high pressures however it can dissolve in the blood and become an anaesthetic. This makes atmospheric air completely unusable to deep sea divers as it causes "nitrogen narcosis" also known as "raptures of the deep". Unfortunately pure oxygen is highly toxic at high pressure. The solution is to breathe a mixture of 80% helium and 20% oxygen. Helium has no effect on the body other than to elevate the pitch of your voice, making you sound like Mickey Mouse.
9. THE WISDOM I'VE LEARNED FROM OTHERS
Meditation is the joy to be yourself. Meditation is the courage to be yourself. Meditation will make you unique and will make you rejoice in being different from the others. Meditation is the way to be yourself." - Tishan

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
So the first "slob-out" of the season comes to an end, and I have enjoyed it tremendously. It has done wonders for my libido, successfully initiating sex and ringing bells without any chemical assistance. It would seem that sat on my arse all day and filling my face with chocolate and peanuts has the same effect as Tadalafil. Unfortunately that is not a sustainable lifestyle! Nevertheless, it has shown me that I still "work" under the right conditions.
Daughter's 5-day visit has been mainly trauma-free, although some intervention was required to defuse Son's resentment at one point. The key has been acceptance and adaption. I have fully accepted her self-absorbtion and complete disinterest in contributing, helping or compromising, so there was no disappointment or frustration this time - I simply gave over the Lounge to her, fed and watered her as needed and then simply kept out of the way and did my own thing upstairs.
The only time my hackles did raise slightly was her refusal to let her mother have any say in what was on the telly, as I do resent her mother being dealt with selfishly, not that it was a surprise. However, I did not interfere and just offered internet TV upstairs when missus wanted it.
With daughter departing today, I look forward to "reclaiming" the Lounge in the evening.

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Today marks the final day of a truly magnificent slob spent mainly on the Consulting Room couch lost in cyberworld, giving just enough time to missus, who has mainly been with Daughter, to keep her happy.
I was pleased to see how positively Son responded to our long talk, and enjoyed a similar day to mine in his room. Off out rehearsing with his second band today, his morale will no doubt lift higher.
Daughter is sadly in a bad way - and looks it, though it must be said entirely self-inflicted - as a result of poor choices, self-absorbtion and a determination to blame circumstances, other people, ANYTHING other than herself for her unhappiness in relationships. As parents we are providing her with a warm quiet undemanding space and simply been there, which may help her heal and see things in perspective. Much less open to suggestion and ideas than Son, we can only hope she figures out for herself the things she needs to do to experience happiness.
For myself, especially with my training as a therapist, I have learned the discipline of detachment regarding the suffering of others. I am fully aware of it but do not take ownership of it, nor do I feel any guilt for enjoying happiness, pleasure and fulfilment while others are not. I have had my share of those things, and I can help others best from a position of strength.
4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU

8. TRIVIA
In the Ancient Greek city of Syracuse in Sicily, Archimedes invented a device that could predict the movement of the five visible planets on one side, and the dates of lunar exclipses on the other. It used a sophisticated system of gears driven by a turning handle that moved pointers either side of the mechanism. The existence of the device was unknown until the 21st century when the remains of it was recovered from an ancient shipwreck in the Mediterranean.
