2. TODAY IN MY LIFE
Using the day intuitively, depending on events. With missus still off until at least Tuesday, Son off college due to snow, and me waiting/hoping gas engineers will make it through the blizzard, life is on hold!

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
The most important lesson I have learned is regarding non-attachment, which means not depending on anything for happiness, but rather on the difference you make with what's available to you. Grateful as I am for all good things that come my way, I know that all things pass, and the important queation is whether you made the most of what you had at the time it was available.

As well as making you adaptable and robust, this attitude also brings you peace of mind, and peace of mind is the greatest prize that life can offer. It enables you to get the very best out of the temporary experience of life.

Of course, to achieve non-attachment, you have to come to an understanding of what your life actually IS. To do that, you need both the time and inclination to think over and above the next thing that needs doing. I have come to full acceptance that only a few of us ever do this, and for that I am profoundly grateful to be one of the enlightened few.
