3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
Though a few beers and wines were consumed, I woke without a hangover as daylight streamed through the window this morning. A fab night in was had by the three of us. There is no greater compliment a teenager could pay to his parents that he'd rather spend the night in with us than party elsewhere! Despite a couple of fiscal setbacks in December not of my making, I greet 2013 happy, grateful and optimistic, and debt-free.

8. TRIVIA
Though a standup comedians' hardest task is often considered to be dealing with hecklers, comedians themselves almost unanimously state that their hardest task is in fact creating new material. Successful and famous comedians often make surprise appearances at small comedy clubs to test new material on a live audience and refine it according to the response they get before starting major tours.

9. THE WISDOM I'VE LEARNED FROM OTHERS
"Spirituality for me is recognizing that I am connected to the energy of all creation, that I am a part of it - and it is always a part of me." - Oprah Winfrey
