3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
An elevated consciousness does not free you from emotions by itself, you just understand why you're emotional! A frustrating software technical issue of no great consequence gobbled up Friday morning and put me in a foul mood for most of the day. I could see what was happening and why but not to stop it! It was at best damped down by my awareness.

Unfortunately, when you are emotional, higher centres of control in the brain are shut down and thoughts can become very dark. Once emotional, I've found it impossible to think your way out of it. What does help is if you can become internally silent and stop thinking altogether. This deprives dark reactions of a power supply.

That I think was the lesson of yesterday. I was reminded that to know true inner peace and escape from being the character I play, I have to become internally silent, and what is required is not positive thinking but positive focus. I will be making a particular effort today to turn off unnecessary thought.
