3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I'd love to report profound cosmic experiences during meditation, but during meditation I'm just plain blank! It's the benefits of meditation that are more noticeable. The main benefit is to be able to calm my mind at will in quieter times, and to recover quickly when raw nerves are trodden on.
Meditation does not make me invincible but it certainly makes me more robust, both mentally and physically. With a new threat, albeit only periodically at the Weekend Job in the form of a nasty manager and the need to revitalize my Practice, meditation is more important than ever. I am committing myself to an hour daily.

9. ZEN WISDOM
No matter what the state of society or the times, each of us can contribute to peace in our immediate environment. We can do this by encouraging even one young person and enabling them to tap into their potential.
