On the Russian Front...
Naval evacuation of Axis troops from the Crimea concludes with five transports, a minelayer, three sub chasers, and other small vessels lost. 

Soviet forces cease all offensives in order to consolidate and fully prepare for Operation Bagration, a major offensive against Army Group Centre, intended to coincide with Operation Overlord, D-Day in the West. In fact Stalin has decided that Operation Bagration will be launched a few weeks after Operation Overlord as he wants to base his subsequent actions on the outcome of the Western offensive.

French Resistance forces sabotage a plant at Bagneres de Bigorre  

In the English Channel...
Kriegsmarine gun ferry AF-73 is sunk by a mine

In Italy...
British 8th Army expands its bridgehead across the Rapido River 
French Expeditionary Corps of US 5th Army breaks through German positions and advances rapidly
