END OF WORLD WAR 2

Today marks the end of a project I've pursued for six years - to track the progress of World War 2 day-by-day. There have been several changes of blogging platform and information sources, and a few days missed, but it is nevertheless a lifelong ambition achieved! From tomorrow, a new feature - ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY

3. TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
With sleep debt becoming a serious issue, I retired at 20:30 last night as did Missus, and with the exception of a couple of urinations, slept right through until 05:00, and feel much better for it. I intend to be more disciplined over the coming months!

Given three days grounded for recovery, my ankle megablisters have made significant progress but remain sore and still weeping in places. I can wait no longer and need to venture out today! I will have them well-padded and see how they get on!

My mind begins the day blissfully calm, an excellent way to begin the day. I intend to ensure that all primal needs are met to keep it at maximum efficiency and see how I get on with thought-management, relying as much as I can on intuition.

4. TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Are you driving your own life, or are you being driven?

5. TODAY'S WEATHER IN BRADFORD

6. TODAY'S ONELINER
After taking ten selfies, smartphones should be shut down until you read a book! :D

7. NOW THAT'S FUNNY!

8. TRIVIA
A swimming polar bear can jump 8 ft. (2.4 m) out of the water to ambush a seal

9. ZEN WISDOM
When you devote yourself to achieving your goal, you will not be bothered by shallow criticism. Nothing important can be accomplished if you allow yourself to be swayed by some trifling matter, always looking over your shoulder and wondering what others are saying or thinking. The key to achievement is to move forward along your chosen path with firm determination
