Soviet 2nd Byelorussian Front continues to advance west
Soviet 1st Byelorussian Front and 1st Ukrainian Front continue assaulting Berlin - Soviet 8th Guards Army captures the Tiergarten and Soviet 3rd Shock Army captures the Reichstag building and flies a Soviet flag from the roof. Soviet troops advance toward the Reich Chancellery
German Army Group E is isolated in Croatia and Slovenia
General Krebs returns from Zhukov's HQ to report to Bormann and Goebbels that the Soviets insist on unconditional surrender
Goebbels notifies Doenitz in Flensburg by radio that Hitler is dead
Joseph and Magda Goebbels poison their six young children and commit suicide
General Krebs commits suicide
The remaining inhabitatnts of the Bunker evacuate and attempt to escape Berlin - Martin Bormann and SS Dr Ludwig Stumpfegger are killed, SS-Gruppenfuehrer Hans Baur, Hitler's personal pilot, is seriously wounded in the leg.
