Over France... US 8th Air Force attacks Lille and other targets with 79 bombers

In the English Channel... German S-143 is sunk by a mine.

In the Bay of Biscay... U-171 is sunk by a mine

In the Mediterranean... Italian vessels Giuseppe Magliulo and Alga sunk by RN submarine HMS Unbending.

In North Africa... the Axis Airfield of El-Daba is heavily bombed by the British Desert Air Force, and the USMEAF bombs Benghazi

In the Atlantic... In another bleak day for Allied shipping, Dutch vessel Flensburg sunk by U-201, Canadian vessel Carolus sunk by U-69, British vessel Pennington Court sunk by U-254, and British vessel Oronsay sunk by Italian submarine Archimede. Japanese vessel Yawatasan Maru sunk by USN submarine Drum off Honshu.

In Papua New Guinea... Australian 25th Infantry Brigade attack the Japanese rearguard around Myola on the Kokoda Track. US 5th Air Force aircraft attack Lae.

Keeping focused is definitely the theme of the moment! I know what I need to do, so it's a case of getting on with it. Days and weeks are seeming to whizz by at breakneck speed! This is probably a sign of a happy and fulfilled life! I appreciate it that much more because I have had the experience of NOT having such a life.
