2. TODAY IN MY LIFE
The day did not get off to the greatest start as my alarm failed to go off. It's an old Morphy-Richards clock radio that's had slightly "dodgy" switches for some time. Missus still managed to get herself out the door on time at 0635, getting ready in 20 minutes flat. I however find my normal routines disrupted, though I've nothing pressing today. The clock-radio has been thrown out and replaced with backup alarm clock. After blogging I will have a full "toilette". Marketing materials to create today. Missus time in the evening.

3. TODAY’S SELF-OBSERVATION
This morning's unfortunate alarm failure was a good test of my response to a "raw nerve" - letting people down. My "default" response to such events is self-pity and Munchausen's Syndrome - "losing it" to elicit sympathy and deflect criticism - a deep-rooted imprinted childhood-derived behaviour. Fortunately I have of course come a long way in self-development and none of this happened - no harm was done. I am not so naive as to think I cannot be broken, but at least in minor raw-nerve incidents I am now managing myself, and I work hard to avoid letting others down in general.

Incidentally, unealistic expectations, unfairness, bullying or unreasonable demands used to evoke the same reaction, but has in recent years turned into a different response - wrath! And I have found it very effective. Adults tend to want minimum grief, and in the face of someone baring their teeth and making a stand, they will usually back away. I find this empowering and therefore fully intend to continue to wield this weapon.

I find myself abandoning the concepts of Good and Evil as human constructs of limited use. Instead I prefer the Chinese philosophy of YinYang, a balance of opposing yet mutually dependent forces, that manifest as creation/growth and decline/destruction. Both are necessary for life and progress. Negative forces are vital to maintain balance. Cancer for example is a direct result of the failure of cell destruction. I therefore have no problem wielding both creative and destructive forces to achieve not the temporary experience of victory but the ongoing experience of fulfilment, experiencing life as a "ride", moving from one objective to the next.
